Teatro dell’Opera di Roma
edited by Carlo Fuortes
Rome 2017 (Mondadori Electa)
This volume recreates the history of the theatre since 1880, when the entrepreneur Domenico Costanzi realized the dream of providing Rome with an important theater, as the city deserved.
This book is presented by Claudio Strinati and includes essays by Francesco Reggiani, manager of the Historical Archive of the Opera Theatre. This book is promoted by Valter and Paola Mainetti, patrons of the Theatre through the Fondazione Sorgente Group. The text reports protagonists and anecdotes about over one century and an half of history, thanks to the materials rediscovered during the reorganization of the Historical Archive and it doesn’t snub any of the phase of the Theatre.
